Cobblestone School is pleased to announce that Lisa Kindig has been appointed Director beginning July 1, 2009. The appointment follows an extensive search process and interviews with the Search Committee, faculty, and members of the Board of Trustees.

Lisa brings to Cobblestone a unique blend of experience in education, business and philanthropy that will lead us into the next decade. Her captivating enthusiasm, ability to conceptualize the “big picture” for our school, her knowledge of our unique and special curriculum, and her sincere belief in the Cobblestone philosophy brought unanimous support from faculty and Board members.

About Lisa Kindig

Lisa received her B.A., cum laude, in Psychology/Early Childhood Development from Harvard University, a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Business Administration from Fontbonne University. Her teaching experience includes graduate instructor and adjunct faculty member positions at three different universities. Most recently, Lisa served as the Global Head of Health for Hall & Partners LLC, based in New York City. In this position, Lisa developed the business plan, implemented the strategy, and led a multi-million dollar global pharmaceutical brand strategy and communications consulting division.

As a business professional, Lisa is skilled at uncovering and evaluating issues, trends and competitors, as part of the process of building a strategic business plan. She is knowledgeable about financial and operational management, including designing and implementing efficient processes that free professionals to focus on their core areas of expertise. Finally, Lisa values being closely connected with the people with whom she works – supporting them, understanding what matters to them, and creating space for them to thrive. Her greatest joy comes from co-creation with others.

In addition to her professional achievements, Lisa and her husband, Glenn Kindig, are board members for Lusungu AIDS Orphans Voice, an organization which raises support for the Lusungu orphanage and school in Chingola, Zambia. Lisa and Glenn also volunteer for BLOCK Ministry/HOPE Initiatives, a community development corporation which works with area churches to connect with Rochester families in need.

Lisa and Glenn are the proud parents of Elijah, who is a Cobblestone student. Since first learning of Cobblestone, Lisa has become a passionate advocate for the principles of experiential education; her own most influential educational experiences involved hands-on, contextual learning moments that led to personal reflection, collaborative exploration and independent problem-solving. Lisa is committed to the development, implementation and stewardship of Cobblestone’s School progressive strategic vision, leveraging a history of 25 successful years into a powerful plan for the future.
